B’Kingminded Approach

About B’Coming Kings

Foster A Growth Mindset

B’Coming Kings is an innovative, culturally responsive curriculum designed to mentor boys on their transformative journey into manhood by reshaping their thoughts, behaviors, and active participation in community service.

Core Principles of The B’Kingminded Approach

Strengths-Based Approach: Focuses on inherent potential, not just problems, seeing youth as agents of change.

Self-Efficacy: Building belief in one’s capacity to succeed and influence outcomes.

Emotional Resilience: Developing inner toughness and the ability to navigate hardships, often learning vulnerability is strength.

Purpose: Cultivating a vision for one’s life and future.

Leadership Identity: Fostering traits like accountability, fairness, and raising others up.

Growth Mindset: Believing abilities can be developed through dedication, effort, and learning from mistakes.

How The B’Kingminded Approach is Achieved

Mentorship: Compassionate guidance from adults who believe in their potential.

Safe Spaces: Environments for open sharing and vulnerability.

Curriculum: Structured learning focusing on social-emotional wellness, conflict resolution, and public speaking.

Shifting Narratives: Moving from “I can’t” to “I am” (e.g., “I am a King Filled With Passion, Purpose, and Power”).

In essence, it’s about cultivating a “kingly” mentality—one of confidence, responsibility, vision, and positive action—to help young men become leaders in their own lives and communities

About The Curriculum

The B’Coming Kings program is not just a curriculum—it is a call to action. It was born out of both concern and conviction. Today’s boys are often guided more by influencers and online personas than by the men in their lives. We’ve allowed celebrities, athletes, and social media content creators to become the voices of masculinity, while too many fathers, uncles, coaches, and elders remain silent. But now, more than ever, our boys need us to show up. While the curriculum provides the structure, it is mentors who give it soul.
